It seems like we were just in the throes of summer, but we now find ourselves at the first day of October. October is unique for many reasons—cooler weather, pumpkins, light sweaters. But it’s also a month to celebrate others and the gifts God has given to us in the form of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Today begins Respect Life Month. Not only that, but it’s Down Syndrome Awareness Month and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
As we embark on this new month, we challenge you to do something every day to celebrate others and to draw attention to the fact that we are all charged with protecting those who cannot protect themselves.
American Life League’s Culture of Life Studies Program has a list of 31 activities—one for each day!—to help you on this month-long journey. These activities are great for individuals and families as you work toward building a culture of life.
In addition, we will post a couple suggestions on Facebook each day for ways you can make a difference in your homes and communities. Join us every day this month as we teach others to respect all human beings—regardless of location and regardless of ability!
Day 1
To begin the month, let others know that October is a month to celebrate respect for all human beings and that you’re going to try all month to inspire. So grab your pumpkin latte, get comfy, sit down at your computer, and share a pro-life meme or an article like this one on social media! Be sure to explain the joy and blessings that all babies bring!
